The Last Day of May…. What that can mean for your health?
|
It is the last day of the month of May. So what you may say, but it can be one of the most important days in the life of your health if you do two things before the end of the day.
1. Review your general health and what needs to be changed.
2. Make a decision to wake up tomorrow morning and begin living a healthier life.
It does not need to be a drastic change starting tomorrow morning and it doesn’t mean you need to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on exercise equipment or diet foods, doctor visits or a health coach. You know your body and you know what needs to be done. What it takes first and foremost is honesty on your part.
June 1- tomorrow morning can be the start of a health make over. Pick one thing you need to change and focus on the actions it will take to make this change. If you have a long list of changes you want to make, prioritize your list into groups of like activities that can be done together and list the actions it will take to make them work.
Here are some ideas:
Stop smoking- begin tomorrow by smoking less. Everyday smoke one less cigarette until you don’t need to smoke. Seek the help of a physician if you have difficulty doing this on your own but do it. Smoking is a leading cause of cancer, heart disease, and stroke.
Increase exercise- begin tomorrow by walking for 5 minutesĀ even if it is up and down the driveway twice. You need to start somewhere. Go up and down the stairs twice, park as far from the door at your job as you safely can, take the stairs at work instead of an elevator, or run in place for 5 minutes. The key is to start small and work up to success.
Check in tomorrow for more ideas on starting small for your health.
