Avoid sitting for long periods of time

The BMJ reports that ‘the risk of pulmonary embolism was more than twofold in women who spent the most time sitting compared with those who spent the least time sitting. You can read the full article here: Physical inactivity and idiopathic pulmonary embolism in women: prospective study .
“Pulmonary embolism develops when part, or all, of the blood clot travels through the bloodstream from the deep veins in the leg and up into the lungs. Symptoms include difficulty breathing, chest pain and coughing. “.
