Home Idea: Donate
|
This summer while you are cleaning things out (remember I told you it was a good idea) take a little time to go through all those things and donate them. Donating items can teach your kids all about good citizenship and how to help those in need. A good idea is to have them go through their toys and decide what they no longer want.
Another good idea is to go through their school clothes from last year and make room for next years clothes. This allows children who need new school clothes get them. Going throw all those baby clothes, that we never seem to throw out, is easy too. Have your child(ren) who wore the clothes go through them with you, tell them stories about each clothing item such as where they wore them to. This will allow you and your child to have some quality time together and allow you to part with the clothing much more easily. Ask them what they think such as “Should we keep this?” or “Do you want to wear this again?”
The more you involve your children in the donation process the more they will understand the importance of helping other people.
