Birth Control Is Not Murder
|
The group Personhood USA has succeeded in adding a terrifying initiative to the November ballot in Mississippi. Very soon, the residents of Mississippi will be voting on a measure that defines a fertilized egg as a human being. A fertilized egg, not an embryo. Not a fetus.
In many cases, a fertilized egg fails on its own to adhere to the uterine wall. But it would suddenly be a crime, committed by a woman with absolutely no control over her endometrial membranes.
This would mean that birth control pills could be considered a lethal weapon.
That miscarriage could carry a charge of murder.
That a woman could actually be imprisoned for failing to produce a child.
Whether or not you believe that abortion is murder, you cannot dispute that miscarriage is not. That a chemical pregnancy (where a fertilized egg does not implant in the uterine wall) is not a crime.
Personhood USA is attempting to get this measure on the ballot in all fifty states. Send a message now, to and for the people of Mississippi.
Support the cause. Make a donation if you can. Protect the biological freedom of women everywhere.

Humans do not change species during development. The amendment merely codifies what is observed in biology. It may lead to truth and accuracy in medicine. For example some drugs might no longer be misbranded as contraceptive, since they operate after fertilization. These kinds of amendments have caused the purveyors of said pharmaceuticals to admit to the misbranding, which was for the sake of sales promotion.
It is the right of patients to be accurately informed about their drugs and medical procedures.

This post does not make any sense. Miscarriage is something a woman has no control over – that does not mean that the embryo was not a human life. This legislation does not seek to make a woman who experiences a miscarriage a criminal; the opposite is true, it validates her loss. Your logic is reprehensible.

@Leah How is it validating somebody’s loss to charge them with murder for somehow causing a miscarriage? Every single action she made during her pregnancy would be evidence of the homocide. And that isn’t validating, it’s exactly the opposite. It’s adding layers of pain on top of pain. And that is now what the law should set a precedent for doing to women already dealing with the loss of a wanted pregnancy.
